A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held in the Magnolia Chapel at the Macquarie Park Crematorium, corner Delhi Road and Plassey Road in North Ryde, on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, commencing at 2pm. Please gather from 1:45pm.
No floral tributes, please bring a flower from your garden. A donation to the Ku-ring-gai Rural Fire Service in Don’s honour would be appreciated.
There will be a Guard of Honour by members of the Ku-ring-gai Rural Fire Service. Captain Nic Lyons will follow the pallbearers inside.
Feel free to wear bright colours (there will likely be lots of orange overalls) rather than dark colours.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, guests are invited to relocate a few kilometres to the wake. Location details will be available at the Magnolia Chapel service.
Update: Burnett Property Group colleague and friend Peter Quinlivan has kindly agreed to be master of ceremonies for the service. Thank you, Peter.
Dear Sue and Family,
We are very sorry to hear of your profound loss recently. Sue, Don was such a long and faithful supporter of you and family in life and in particular your support of NAISDA over many many years. Sue and Family please accept the condolences from myself as the CEO of NAISDA on behalf of the Board, staff and students. On a personal note Sue of course you and Don’s support of myself and my family in the difficult time of our fire was so wonderful and really helped us get back on our feet. Don leaves a wonderful legacy for all family and friends.
Regards
My condolences to Sue John James & Ant.
Our neighbours for many years.
Special memories particularly 1991 tornado
that blew through our area. We had a continuous
barbecue for a few days as the power was off.
Everyone enjoyed it. We all pulled together and
tried to get things sorted out. Don was the go to
man and got power on in a couple of days.
We affectionately called Don ‘ The Mayor of Mcrae Place.
He will be missed
Thinking of you Sue and your boys and their families.
